Silk flowers
3 hours performance
Green-Wood Cemetery | Brooklyn, New York
Photography by Walter Wlodarczyk

Hur quietly performs mournful gestures of labor while cradling new life within her body. She sits alone for three hours pulling apart yellow silk flowers in a meditation upon the loss of lives caused by Covid-19, among whom were her doorman and neighbors of her home in Brooklyn.

The artist invites the audience to sit twenty feet from her during the performance in silence as the Harlem Chamber Players nearby perform scores by Goerge Walker and Florence Price.
